In this week's edition of the Etch Play roundup we're looking at Among Us coming to more platforms, God of War on PC, and a lawsuit over PS5 darkplates.

Innersloth have announced that Among Us will be coming to Xbox and PlayStation on December 14th, just in time for Christmas. The game will be $5, and like the existing versions of the game it'll be crossplay. Great news for Xbox Game Pass fans is that the game is also being included there. There is no denying that the player numbers for the game have dwindled in recent months, so maybe this is exactly what's needed to inject some life into the game.

I've always heard a lot about God of War, and people always seem to rave about how good it is. Alas, I am not a PlayStation owner, never have been, so it's a title I've never actual played myself. However, that could all change next year. It has been announced this week that God of War will be coming to PC in 2022, as early as January 14th.

This isn't the first time a previous Sony exclusive has made it's way to PC, as this follows in the footsteps of Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone, to name a few that have eventually released on PC.

Whether I do actually buy the game on PC remains to be seen, but having the option to do so is definitely welcome!

The design of the PlayStation 5 is... Well, let's call it an "acquired taste". It's not for everyone.

So it should come as very little surprise that private, third party companies would spring up and offer an alternative. One such company is Dbrand, who launched matte black faceplates for the PS5 and taunted Sony's lawyers, daring them to sue.

Sony: "Challenge accepted".

The legal battle has taken another step this week, with Dbrand launching version 2 of their so-called "darkplates". The new edition has a predictably tongue-in-cheek attitude and a new innovation: They've added vents, to keep your console cooler, and circumvent Sony's patented design. Will Sony take this lying down? Probably not.

One thing's for sure though... Black plates aren't going out of style any time soon.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about Razer selling thumb condoms gaming finger sleeves. Well, the gaming gear company are back with another wearable for gamers: The Razer Zephyr.

The Zephyr is a COVID-19 mask that sports LEDs, a clear mouth cover, active filtration, and a cyberpunk style all for a cool $100. So, if looking like some sort of crossover between Mad Max and cyberpunk is your thing, head over to the Razer site for more info.

Today, Stardew Valley developer Eric Barone (@ConcernedApe) revealed his next game, Haunted Chocolatier. Stardew Valley has sold a staggering (and well-deserved) 15 million+ copies since its initial release in 2016.

Barone is known for largely solo-developing the majority of Stardew Valley and is seemingly taking on the same task again with this next title. With such a solid success under his belt, this really does sound like living the "Indie dream", as Barone has achieved freedom from the financial pressures of full time game development and is being strongly non-committal on deadlines and other expectations for this next title.

The game has strong Stardew vibes aesthetically, though is taking a more action RPG direction than the farming focused Stardew Valley. The announce teaser video is looking great and as someone who has sunk many hours into Stardew Valley, I am excited to follow this development. More info on the Haunted Chocloatier website .
